These camps are offered for a range of ages and experience, from attending daily concerts, classes in singing, drama, dance, movement, recorder, music reading, Orff ensemble, and instrument building for students entering pre-kindergarten through sixth grade, to worship band with drum-set, electric guitar, acoustic guitar, bass, vocals and keyboards for students entering seventh grade through high school.
Summer music camp instructors are musicians and artists in our community who love to share their art with the youth of the Grande Ronde Valley. Mark Emerson, professional percussionist, drummer and Orff specialist is the camp director and lead instructor. The campers have enjoyed a variety of instructors including, Rikki Jo Hickey-director of The Blue Mountain Actors Studio in La Grande; Olivia Westinsko-Local Zumba & World Dance Instructor; Lea Emerson-professional pianist, singer, songwriter and worship leader; Jamie Jacobson-EOU Adjunct Vocal Instructor and Carla Arnold-Local Music Instructor. Guest musical artists visit the camp each day and represent the wide variety of talent we have here in the Grande Ronde Valley.

Camp Descriptions & Registration:
Music Day Camp – Pre-K – 2nd Grade: 9:30am – 12:30pm – Tuition: $80 Pictures & Details
Description: This one week program is recommended for new students as well as the experienced. In addition to attending daily concerts, students will have classes in instrument building, percussion, Orff ensemble, singing, art, dance and drama.
Music Day Camp – 3rd – 6th Grade: 9:30am – 2:30pm – Tuition: $100 Pictures & Details
Description: 3rd –6th graders will learn, explore, create and perform a final concert. Campers will attend daily concerts, classes in singing, drama, dance and movement, music reading, Orff ensemble, and they will build an authentic gourd instrument. 3rd & 4th graders will play Recorder Karate and the 5th & 6th graders will have a choice of learning piano, recorder, or guitar.
Fiddle Tunes Mini Camp – K – 5th Grade: 9:o0am – 12:00pm – Tuition: $50
Description: This is a camp within the Wallowa Fiddle Tunes Camp. While parents and older siblings enjoy learning fiddle, guitar and banjo, the younger kids can enjoy their own music enrichment. Camp out with your family at Wallowa for 5 days and enjoy the sounds of impromptu fiddle bands playing music into the night right from your tent. The mini-camp features instrument building, orff ensemble, dance & movement, bucket drumming and much more!
Worship Camp – 7th – High School: 1:00pm – 5pm – Tuition: $70 Pictures & Details
Description: 7-12th graders will form a worship band (guitars, keys, drums, vocals) and be led to improve on their instruments and grow spiritually as we work through the book, “Worship on Earth as it is in Heaven”. Culmination is a student led worship service.
