These camps are offered for a range of ages and experience, from attending daily concerts, classes in singing, drama, dance, movement, recorder, music reading, Orff ensemble, and instrument building for students entering pre-kindergarten (age four by June 2015) through sixth grade, to worship band with drum-set, electric guitar, acoustic guitar, bass, vocals and keyboards for students entering seventh grade through high school.
Instructors this year, in addition to Mark Emerson, professional percussionist, drummer, Orff specialist and director of Emerson Music Arts are; Rikki Jo Hickey-director of The Blue Mountain Actors Studio in La Grande; Olivia Westinsko-Local Zumba & World Dance Instructor; Lea Emerson-professional pianist, singer, songwriter and worship leader.

Music Day Camp – Pre-K – 2nd Grade: June 8th – 12th, 9:30am – 12:30pm – Tuition: $80 Pictures & Details Register
Description: Welcome to the adventures of musical Pirates of the Caribbean! Kids start each day being inspired by local musicians giving daily, interactive concerts. After that warm-up, students will have the chance to play pirate music in the Orff Ensemble with a huge array of instruments to choose from. They’ll experience music through dance, movement and adventure games and they will also build their own instrument and learn to play it. The whole camp ends with a fabulous pirate themed camp performance where the campers share all that they have learned. (Pre-K Age 4 by June 1, 2015)

Description: 3rd –6th graders will learn, explore, create and perform a final concert. Campers will attend daily concerts, classes in singing, drama, dance and movement, music reading, Orff ensemble, and they will build an authentic gourd instrument. 3rd & 4th graders will play Recorder Karate and the 5th & 6th graders will have a choice of learning piano, recorder, or guitar.
