These camps are offered for a range of ages and experience. Students attend daily concerts, classes in singing, drama, dance, movement, recorder, music reading, Orff ensemble, and instrument building. Worship Camp includes drum-set, electric guitar, acoustic guitar, bass, vocals and keyboards for students entering seventh grade through high school.
2013 instructors, in addition to Mark Emerson, professional percussionist, drummer, Orff specialist and director of Emerson Music Arts were; Rikki Jo Hickey-director of The Blue Mountain Actors Studio in La Grande; Jamie Jacobson-EOU Adjunct Faculty: Voice; Carla Arnold-Orff specialist & Music Instructor at Central Elementary; Tony Corig-Guitar Instructor; Lea Emerson-professional pianist, songwriter and worship leader and Rita Moxley-local artisan in Cove.

Building Shakers

Music Day Camp
Grades 3 – 6
Description: 3rd –6th graders learned, explored, created and performed a final concert. Campers attended daily concerts, classes in singing, drama, dance and movement, music reading, Orff ensemble, and they built an authentic gourd instrument. 3rd & 4th graders played Recorder Karate while the 5th & 6th graders had a choice of learning piano, recorder, or guitar.
